Does anyone know how to permanently delete automatic listings of "favorite books?"  I shouldn't have anything in this area, but every time I check, the SAME books are listed - books I've read but most are by far not that memorable and I really didn't like them.  I keep deleting them, but every time I check they're back again.  (I don't want to list "favorite books" since that encompasses a wide area.)

You can't delete the listing. You can, however, set it to private so only you see it.

Doug, these are listings displayed on your My Profile page. To view your Profile, go to your My Account page and click on the My Profile button near the upper right. Scroll down to see the listings for "I'm Currently Reading", "My Favorite Books", "My Favorite Authors", and "Books I Want (on my Wish List!)".

Your Profile is visible to other members who click on your name or nickname in personal messages, transactions, or in the member directory. You can edit your Profile to customize it.

You can also view and update your Public Profile by going to Settings under the My Account menu, and you can control what can be seen by other members in your Profile by going to Privacy Controls in the yellow bar on the Settings page.

Slightly off-topic, but I've found the best way to add the book I want to my favorite books list is to use the ISBN.

My 'fave books' are correct.  What I have an issue with is the 'currently reading' books shown-- PBS always seems to put in there books I received 1-2 years ago, not what I am reading now.  And they let you list 10 'fave authors', but I don't know if they only show the one you have as #1 on the list or if they switch them out periodically.
