I'm trying to post Truth or Dare by R. L. Stine, but it keeps on appearing as another book by him called Evil Moon. What should I do? The ISBN is 0689043562.

When I search for Truth and Dare, it comes up with this ISBNs ISBN-13: 9780671868369 & ISBN-10: 0671868365.  So since there seems a discrepancy there, you should post the book using the no ISBN feature or offer it in the Book Bazaar.  If you post it under the incorrect ISBN, then someone can RWAP it.  If no ISBN is used, then you're fine.

Did you try looking on the inside cover of the book to see if the ISBN is the same?  Could it possibly be an ARC that has multiple ISBNs?  Just trying to run through some different theories of why it could come up wrong.

Good luck!

Kellie

It sounds like you have a misprinted book, I didn't look much, but when I search for Truth or Dare I don't get that ISBN and when I search for that ISBN I get Evil Moon. Did you check on the copyright page of the book to see if the correct ISBN is printed there?

As always, if the ISBN on the book produces a listing that does not match on the 4 key fields - Title, Author, ISBN,and binding Type - you need to post the book using the book without and ISBN feature. Those 4 fields (plus Large Print) MUST match exactly or you can't post it to the ISBN.

Schuylar, you'll have to post Truth or Dare without an ISBN, since that ISBN is already claimed in the system by Evil Moon. Sometimes publishers re-use or recycle ISBNs, and it would seem that's the case in this instance. Here's a link to the relevant Help Center doc: How do I post a book without an ISBN?

For future reference, you can browse the Help Center documents yourself by going to the Help Center drop-down menu in the gray navbar at the top of your screen, and selecting Browse Help Docs. You'll be taken to a page with several dozen links to basic information, plus a search bar for keywords, phrases, and questions, that will lead to the rest of the Help Center's information.

The inside says 0671868365 while the back says 0689043562. Weird. I can tell that this is the complete book and I also bought it from Amazon.

Help page bookmarked now. I'm still not sure what to do with 2 ISBNs on the same book.

Schuylar, from what I can tell, since the ISBN on the copyright page of Truth or Dare matches the listing for that title, you can post it safely. Sometimes there are confusing discrepancies between the copyright page and the ISBN, and in case that's not trouble enough sometimes even spines list the ISBN. Since the ISBN that matches the listing is listed in your book, it matches all 4 requisite criteria: Title, Author, Binding Type, and ISBN. Since a member requesting the book would be requesting the title, I doubt the different ISBNs listed would be an issue; even then, if a member requests the book and does raise the issue of the back cover's ISBN, you can simply refer them to the copyright page, where the correct ISBN, corresponding to the listing, can be found.

I feel like there should have been a simpler way to phrase all that, hopefully it still makes sense lol

An Amazon search of that ISBN pulls up both books Fear Hall and Evil Moon.  BUT, only Evil Moon has that ISBN (no idea why it also pulls up Fear Hall).

So yes, it appears to be a cover printing error on your edition.  I also agree with James, if all the other criteria match (and correct ISBN on title page) you should be able to post the book under that ISBN.  Am I the only person that would be tempted to use a black perm. marker to neatly mark off the cover ISBN?

@Denise: Nope. I'd want to Sharpie it out too.
