Hey, ladies, you know I don't own this topic right? Someone else is free to start it - and any others!!! But anyway. I am finishing a cuter-than-I thought-it-would-be "Getting Married" by Theresa Allen (so far, I've liked all of her stuff, but I thought this would be another "girl desperate to marry, gets engaged, goes ballistic, almost loses guy, guy forgives everything, gets married) and it's much better. Underestimated. Then I'm bumping up "Tommyland" from my TBR, for something *completely* different!

I'm reading A Total Waste of Makeup by Kim Gruenenfelder and From Notting Hill with Love... Actually by Ali McNamara

I am on-again with Such a Pretty Face by Cathy Lamb. It isn't bad, but I have been on-again, off-again with it because it just isn't keeping my attention! Julia's Chocolates by Cathy Lamb was so good though, so I am going to keep at this one at least through the weekend!

I'm reading "The Way it Is" by Patrick Sanchez. I have to say he's one of the best male writers who "get" the chick lit voice. The one weird thing is, he sort of stereotypes - every book (and every cover, which is funny), has one African-American woman, one white woman, and either a Latino or Asian woman. Like, every single book. But his stories are really good with the rah-rah-rah sisterhood and not just women chasing men, getting drunk, etc. He must have a lot of sisters :-). I recommend his books, they're usually available in the system and a good read.

I finished Such a Pretty Face (Cathy Lamb) and I really liked it. I may order another one of hers from Amazon, since they seem to be rare on PBS!

Now I am starting Pug Hill by Alison Pace.

"Pug Hill" was one of my favorite books in the world! Don't tell my cat though!

I loved that Patrick Sanchez book so much (he really gets the "larger ladies" voice too) that I'm "allowing" myself to order another of his in the system. I'm trying to restrict myself to only ordering WL books, because my TBR is exploding, but it's nice to get packages in the mail, you know? Anyway, I've just started "Secret Celebrity" by Carol Wolper.

I'm about to finish "Walk of Fame" (it may be "Walk of Shame" haha, I honestly can't remember, it's downstairs) by Sharon Krumm. Really cute page-turner. Chick lit, but written (by a woman) from a guy's point of view. I didn't expect to like it as much as I did!

I'm reading "Dandy in the Underworld" by Sebastian Horseley. I may have to give it up. I was so excited for this book, and it's fairly incomprehensible. I hate when that happens. Will give it another try as I sit at doctor appointments today, maybe it gets better.

I'm kind of 0 for 2 now, having passed on "Dandy" and the next one I picked up, "Notice," by Heather Lewis. I hardly ever abandon, but I have around 400 books now. There are so many GOOD BOOKS in this world, why waste the time. I am going to start "Celebutantes" now, and I KNOW that one is going to be pretty cute. Hope everyone else is having good reading!

I've been doing a non-fiction challenge this year so I haven't been reading much chick lit lately.  I miss it though! I need to get back to reading some!
