I know somthing now that when I was a bit younger I thought I didnt need or want, and that fact is, that God has been with me all of my life, guiding me away from disaster time after time and here are a few instances.
There was one time, I had just gotten off work and was so tired all I wanted to do is get home. The only thing holding me back was a slow moving gravel truck in front of me, so I thought to myself as soon as I get around this next curve in the road and if I cant see any oncoming traffic around the right side of the truck i will pass it. All of a sudden that truck starts rocking to the left and to the right as if shaking its rear end no. Well this flipped me out and I didnt pass it, and just about the time that I would have pulled into the passing lane, a big three quarter ton chevy truck flys by.
I would have crashed head on into that truck, and me in a little ford festiva would have been smashed to smitherines.

Another time my husband, my son and I were getting ready to leave our church parking lot one Sunday evening after church, I had turned around heading for the driveway and on impulse let this other couple out in front of us. About a half mile from the church there is a stop sign. The car in front of us turned right, we were to turn left, just as the car in front of us got out on the road a Jeep goes by with no lights on. If I had not followed that impulse to let the other car go first we would have gotten broad sided, my son and my husband were sitting on the passanger side of the car they would have been hurt or killed.

There are hundreds of times that I know God had my gaurdian angel watching over time on me, which makes me think of another time 32 years ago I was just 8 years old at the time, and was learning to swim with my cousins, all older than me. We were at a favored swimming hole that was way over my head, I had attempted to swim across, making every one else get out before I would even try. About half way across I faltered and panicked, I was going down for the third time when my arms wrapped around a inner tube saving me. For a good long while I was scared of the water but eventually did learn to swim.

So now that I am older and understand a little more of God and his love for each and every one of us, it amazes me that he still loves me after all that I have done and said against him especialy in my younger years when I thought I did not need him. I Thank Him So Much For Loving Me Anyway.
I also thank him for giving me a Mother who has never in 40 years failed to pray for her daughters every day.

I have read your story and understand. God has guided me through my life whether I was listening or not. He has protected me from death and injuries, and he has given me joy when my life has been filled with pain from the death of my whole family. I am so happy to know that God has blessed your life as well.

I have had some experiences like this. Funny, how people are tuned to the negative things when you tell them how lucky I was.(lucky is not realy the best word to describe it even)Twice now I had things happen that could have been so much worse. I think it's also about perspective. Margaret: The death of your whole family? I am not sure I understand what you mean, but my condolances anyway.

Yes, God does watch out for us. The time I FELT God all around me, constantly, was when we travelled to Russia 2 times to meet & bring home our children. Both my husband & I are USUALLY extremely bothered by cigarette smoke...it never bothered us a bit; driving in Russia has to be seen or experienced to be bleieved! We lived thru it...even driving with both kids (ages 8.5 months and 25 months) and no seat belts or car seats. I was searched COMPLETELY (all over!) because a few weeks before trip 1, a couple women blew up a Russian plane with explosives in their bras. We were kept safe...even flying Aeroflot! God protects and blesses us. Our daughter, now 4.5 years (then 25 months), is a great believer in prayer...even to the point of praying for help in toilet training! Such a blessing! Our son, now 3y2m, is starting to follow in his "big" sister's footsteps! (I say "big" because she's 16 months older but weighs 10 pounds less & is 2" shorter!) BLESSINGS, Laurel
