Star crime journalist Regan Landry has long struggled to emerge from the shadow of her literary-legend father. Now she's onto the story of a lifetime: a convicted rapist-murderer freed from death row hours before his execution. Lester Ray Barnes had maintained his innonce from the very beginning-but a week after speaking to Regan, he mysteriously vanishes.......and soon afterward, young women start turning up dead on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Is it coincidence, or merely the next chapter in a grisly saga that should have ended in the death chamber? Tracking a trail of chilling clues, Regan and FBI special agent Mitch Peyton must confront the horrifying possibility that they have helped to free a cunning monster with an insatiable appetite for death- and a ruthless determination never to be caged again.

Final in the TRUTH series. But don't worry if you haven't read the other 3...it is good as a stand alone.

Regan Landry is a writer following in her fathers famous footsteps by writing about true crimes. She has been trying to track down information on Eddie Kroll, a man her father had little information about but sparked her curiosity, when she ran across information on another high profile case that was sure to have the justice system reeling. Regan learns that DNA evidence has been fabricated and mishandled by the lab entrusted to handle it, which sets two convicted rapists and murders free. She is intrigued by the story and meets with one of the men released, Lester Ray Barns, to see if it would be a story she would tell. Soon Regan finds herself in the middle of a string of murders that points back to Lester Ray, who has disappeared, and the only way to find him is through Regan.

FBI agent Mitch Payton is dating Regan and determined to keep her safe from the killer focused on her while also investigating a string of murders. However, when Regan learns of the secret her father had been hiding from her, it leads her right into the hands of the killer; will he be able to get to her in time?

Final Truth is the fourth and last book in the Truth series that will explain the Eddie Kroll mystery. This story is the perfect ending to this series! Regan is a smart, resourceful woman who wants to connect with her father through her work while working on a relationship with Mitch. Mitch is a man dedicated to his job and Regan while keeping his sensitivity on a job that is filled with murder, deceit, and lies. If you love a suspenseful, romantic tale, be sure to pick up Final Truth, because no one does it better than Mariah Stewart.

A very light book. Not the traditional Mariah Stewart book. The characters were difficult to relate to, not enough substance to like any one particular person.
