I've been speaking (PMing ?) with someone who was having trouble finding LGBT books and told her about several resources on PBS that I don't think most people know about, so I thought I would mention them here, and if anyone knows of anything else they could also spread the knowledge. I sometimes search from the main search page for the genre' GLBT. This seems to work better than searching on the keyword Lesbian, but sometimes I do that too, if I don't want to have to sort out the G, B, & T from the L. I use the daily digest feature in the settings to get a daily list of all the GLBT books listed each day. I also use the daily wish list feature in the setting to get a list of all the GLBT books Wished for each day. I find some new (to Me) books that way that I don't think I would know about otherwise. I also buddy anyone I come across that has a lot of L books on their list, so that if I'm not looking for a specific title, but just browsing I can go directly to their lists. Also if I want a fairly common book I like to keep the request in the family. Anybody have any other tricks or suggestions they would like to share? I've been a member 2 years and just found out about the daily lists in the last two months, I expect there are lots of other features I have not stumbled across yet! Anne J |

I just have a Saved Search set for GLBT books posted in the last seven days, and check it frequently. And of course, now that we havea lot of our stuff tagged, I check that out too. |

for me, I just periodically search for "transgender" or "transsexual" and either request or wishlist anything I don't already have. I also use the tag features on librarything to see if there is anything specific that I want. |

Anne, I didn't even know about the Daily Digest feature. Thanks for the education and some great tips! |

Sheryl, Glad it helps. As I said It took me a couple of years to find, and I think I do a fair amount of poking around. Noticed the ambulance, are you an EMT? Anne |

Well Anne, it's nice to (virtually) meet you! I am also a microbiologist, but I work in the environmental field, not in public health, although I do read some of the public health studies in the journals from time to time. |

hey y'all, I just posted a few lesbian books (25) in my account. They're going fast though. I'm moving soon and am trying to sell or give away what I can before the move. I have a couple of Radclyffe that I'm keeping to myself though ;-) |
