"Every Woman's Nightmare" the story about the Lori Hacking murder.  I remember the story, but didn't really pay too close attention.  The book was good, an easy read.  I just posted it if anyone is interested.

Happy New Year!

Evil Beside Her by Kathryn Casey. Awesome! Not just a True Crime story, but explores spousal abuse. Gets us into the minds of both the abuser and the abused person.

I have so many TBR, it's unreal.  But I am definately going to put "Evil" on my list.  I also just finished Ann Rule's  "Smoke, Mirrors, Murder".  I love Ann Rule, but this book wasn't one of my favorites.

I finished ~To Love Honor and Kill~ today.  Another story about a bright, beautiful couple that seems to have their lives going great and then the husband ends up being a sociopathic killer!!  geesh  I remember this one from Court TV.  He started out looking very handsome and then when he was finally tried about 4 years later..he looked like he had aged 15 years.  He was religious..smart and driven but also a cold blooded killer.  Seems as if I am reading a lot of books about this kind of man lately.

Shai..it is about the guy that takes his wife for a walk along the beach and shoots her dead in the face...and shoots himself 4 times but he only needs a few bandages.  He was a smart guy and thought he would get away with her murder.  I saw the trial on Court tv.

Finished another good book tonight.  Nothing on TV that I like ..so I am reading a lot. ~Under the Knife~ by Diane Fanning. This was about the fake doc that killed a patient and then hid her body.  I think I have liked all of Diane Fanning's books..she does a good job!!

I just finished reading this book and it was quite good. It's about a husband who is jealous of his wife and kills her, but the way he does it, is very grusome. I won't give it away, but the story was interesting enough to keep me turning the pages.

Cathy.....How funny..I just posted the same book.  I finished mine 5 minutes ago..what a good book!!!  I don't remember ever reading or hearing about this story.  I would have liked more recent pictures of the wife and husband together.  I can never get enough pictures

"A Call for Justice" was an interesting true crime.  It 's about a serial killer who murdered  two women and  two children, but  because he was a minor at the time of the crimes, he was elilgible for parole!  The whole town fought hard to keep him behind bars.

This crime is absolutely horrendous but I really liked the way the author presented the story.  He gave a lot of background on the participants and made it a very informative and interesting read!!

"Pure Murder" is haunting.  Corey Mitchell is one of my favorite TC writers.  The story for me at times, was difficult to read because Corey really makes you feel like you know these girls.   The brutality (which he needed to tell) was horrific.  I have been reading TC for many, many years and this book had me saying I can't believe how evil people can be.  "Dead and Buried"  was another good book by Mr. Mitchell.

Picked up this book last night and can't put it down.  About a man who has an affair with a woman (who had a sex-change operation) who he gets to kill his wife.   Delves into the Mormon community in Arizona.

I ordered it today but the cover looks so familiar..(I need to see the inside pics...) the story doesn't sound familiar but after you have read hundreds maybe a thousand true crime books..the stories don't stick in the brain:)

Oh wait...I think I remember it now..he takes the family to Mexico to kill the wife in some vacation home?

That's the one Nicki.   I always "google" the victim after finishing a  true-crime book.   Sometimes there are updates and new trials.  I never do it before reading, cuz it will spoil it for me.

I thought that title sounded familiar also, so I went to Amazon and looked it up and sure enough -- I read it.  It was really good.  One of those books you can't put down!   I finished reading "A Descent Into Hell" which another PBS member had recommended - that's another book you can't put down.

I'm starting Wasted..it's an older book but I have either forgot it..or missed one in 1998.  I go from book to book and rarely even look at the titles of the books ( or try to remember them) and I never look at the authors name.  I do remember pictures..but that doesn't help me when ordering books from PBS :)  I always wished I had started a list years and kept it up...but I didn't and now too many books have gone over the waterfall!!

Not a new True Crime book, but a good one, nonetheless.  It's the story of Christa Pike, the youngest woman on Death Row, sentenced to die in Tennessee for the killing of a fellow Job Corps student.  It was once dubbed "the Job Corps Murder".  Very detailed when it comes to the horrific murder of the young girl, and if you haven't read it, you might like it.  It's a quick read, so interesting that you just want to keep on reading once you get started.  I finished it in one day -- on a Saturday when I had nothing better to do.  I posted it in my bookshelf if anyone's interested.

I read that too!  Infact someone just requested it off my bookshelf.  It is a quick read and interesting!  For awhile there were alot of true crime books with no real substance, but lately I have read some really good ones.  I guess after awhile the bad ones get weeded out.
