Regan O'Neil inherits her father's ranch and he taught her well. But, she is no match for the insane, evil step cousin who wants all she has including the little girl who was her sister's child. She has all her hands and a group of hired gunslingers helping but things really heat up when Jackson Tyler rides back to Texas because he received a letter from Regan's dead sister telling him he is the father of her child. A little too much romance gets in the way of the story imho. Other than that, it's a decent read.

She fought for what was hers... As head of her family's ranch, Regan O'Neil didn't have time to think about her heart - not when she was busy fighting a bitter range war. And besides, frivolous things like romance were for pretty ladies who never muddied their boots. But with the return of a wickedly handsome gunslinger, Regan feared she might lose everything she held most dear. He dared to claim what was his... Jackson Tyler's callous heart felt a flicker of something he'd never known before when Regan's fierce temper and vexing independence challenged him. And although they tried to douse the undeniable flames of desire, their passion was destined to ignite into an all-consuming blaze that would light up the blackest night...and the most neglected corners of their hearts.
