It's quiet now.  The people of Collier, Georgia are all in their beds, resting, waiting, thinking of the tragedies that have befallen them.     The streets are silent, save for the calls of insects, the bark of an occasional dog, and the noise of the soldiers as they move about town.  Soldiers in faceless black ...  more »

From Back Cover:
It began on a happy day. The small town of Collier had gathered on the Fourth of July to watch the fireworks. But in the middle of the celebration, the shocked spectators witnesses something almost beyond comprehension, something too horrifying to believe. The lucky ones were killed immediately. They escaped the true terror that was yet to come, terror that would come from an even more surprising source.

It is quiet now in Collier. The townspeople are waiting, resting, gathering their strength. They know what will come. They know the quiet will soon be shattered. They know the screaming will soon begin. But they don't know what will be left when the screaming ends.

I very much enjoyed this book, about a town that experiences a military operation that threatens their existence, due to a happening in the local lake.

This is a good fun read. It's a light thriller with a lot of fluff but it's an easy read and quite enjoyable. Pure escapist fun!
