Get inside the true pace of a big city emergency room. This is a medical thriller, rife with well researched medical facts and heated emotions.
A serial murdered is prowling Manhattan's Upper West Side, leaving a child's doll at the scene of each brutal crime. Evelyn Sutcliffe has already crossed paths with the faceless, cold-blooded psychopath, and she survived. Others had not been as lucky.
A tough professional addicted to the adrenaline rush of the life and death emergency medicine, Dr. Sutcliffe has seen close up what the so-called "Babydoll killer" is capable of. But her world is rocked when yet another brutalized young woman on the brink of death is brought into the ER. Because this victim is someone Evelyn knows: a medical student and respected colleague. A friend.
The pressure mounts as other slayings occur and she falls into the arms of a dangerously secretive fellow physician. And all evidence is beginning to suggest the unthinkable: that someone in Evelyn's tight medical circle is a killer.
You will NOT be able to put this one down.
Good read--A literary Guild Selection.
If you like medical thrillers you will like this one. AT least a dozen times I thought I had the book figured out till the author put a new twist in. I certainly did not have it figured out. I thought the charachters were well developed and the medical info was realistic. I was surprised how realistic the medical stuff was since it was written by a EMT. She certainly knows her stuff. This book kept me well entertained.
Really good book......one that I found hard to put down once I started reading it!!!
You don't have to be an 'er' fan to get swept up in the world of Manhattan university.Doctor Evelyn Sutcliff has already crossed paths with the psychupath the press has named the "the babydoll killer". She knpws what he is capable of, she survived. Other had not.Hard to put down.
Ya gotta love a book that mixes murder and mayhem with medicine!
I believe this is second novel in series. Good medical thriller with interesting characters.
A tough professional addicted to the adrenaline rush of life-and-death emergency medicine, Dr. Evelyn Sutcliffe has already crossed paths with the faceless, cold-blooded psychopath whom the press has named "the Babydoll Killer." She knows what he is capable of, having seen his gruesome handiwork close-up. She survived. Others were not so lucky.
Now, in an unbearably tense and steamy August, a savage slaying perilously close to home is pulling Dr. Sutcliffe deeper into the razor's edge bedlam of the ER-and to the icy brink of panic. Because all evidence is beginning to suggest the unthinkable: that someone in Evelyn's tightly knit circle of healers-someone supposedly dedicated to the sanctity of human life-is a killer.
