Well, here we are again. Summer flew by, as usual, and our kids come today. Of course, we don't know if we'll be here Tuesday due to the hurricane! <Edited: Well, it's official...we've had one day of school, and now we are off tomorrow due to the hurricane threat! Augh! > <Second edit...We had school today, Wednesday...now we are out again tomorrow since the storm is turning inland again and we will be on the border of the feeder bands. Reading to deaf special needs middle schoolers (grades 6-8) How many kids on your roster? 16--three 6th graders, five 7th graders, eight 8th graders Which class or subject will pose the biggest challenge? My last reading block--all are basically non-readers, two have ADD/ADHD, one has behavioral issues, they come to me after gym---and I am supposed to be using a new reading curriculum which I didn't get until a week after school started! What natural disasters close your schools down? Tropical storms and hurricanes--have already missed days due to Fay and Hanna and are watching Ike now! When is your first day back with the kids? Sept 2nd (HAHAHAHH) What do you teach? Kindergarten How many kids on your roster? 22 (soon to be higher) Last year we had 26 Kindergarteners!!!!!! Which class or subject will pose the biggest challenge? Not any subjects, but I have a few special needs students that will add a challenge to the day What natural disasters close your schools down? Nothing!!!! Not even snow. My district in MI never gets a day off! |
