I think Lori Wilde did a great job capturing the spirit of Christmas while adding a touch of magic. I for some reason love Christmas romances, but usually only stick to novellas about Christmas. The author did a great job and I finished the book in just two days. I loved the characters and the way she wrote the character of Travis Walker.

I am not a big fan of romances or Erotica in general. I knew Lori Wilde was that kind of author going into this book and the series. The first book in the series was the The Sweetheart's Knitting Club, so that drew me in right away. Then book 2 was about quiting The True Love Quilting Club. So naturally I went on to read book 3 about a cookie club all set in magical town, Twilight Texas. Magical meaning the town has a magical way of reuniting true loves and first loves.

So in this series you will see in each book that someone has left Twilight TX only to return and be reunited with their true love. That part kinda makes the stories too similar. While I was reading book 3, I felt like I was just re reading book 2, with a few details changed.

This story adds a cute girl who is really ill, and wants a new mother for her dad, so he wont be alone when the little girl dies.

One of the reasons, I dont care for romance is that I dont think many authors really write the sex scenes well or very realistic. It is either this yearning burning, earth moved stuff or repeated sex like bunny rabbits. In past books, I thought Lori Wilde got it right.

Somehow in this book, I thought the graphic details of the sex act didnt go well with the cutesy theme of this book. I think the first part that bothered me was that when Travis first sees Sarah, he has the desire to Thrust right into her. What is she a piece of meat to him? Then when they finally do get it on. Lori wilde writes about his testicle bang up against Sarah. Really? UGH! It sure didnt seem like true love, so what a big disappointment. They dont even say they love each other yet, they just want to satisfy their urges.

One more complaint, at the very end Sarah see her parents again and after 2 minutes of contact. The parents apologize for all the pain of Sarah's childhood, and Sarah seems to understand better why her parents were the way they were. A little too trite and all wrapped up in one bow. If the parents were truly remorse they could have made contact early in the book.

This book can stand alone, if you didnt want to read book 2 and 3, the characters from the other books are not important to the story.

I will still go on to read book 4 about Gardening, but again someone returns to home and true love happens.
