Finally decided on my first read of the new year, OPEN SEASON by Linda Howard. My friend has been urging me - forever - to read it. We're both big Linda Howard fans but for some reason this one kept getting put aside.

I'm only on page 50 so far, didn't get much reading done today but will getting more done later this evening and tomorrow.

I finished Shield's Lady by Jayne Ann Krentz, which was very good, I've read half of The Mane Squeeze by Shelly Laurenston, and started Gabriel's Ghost by Linnea Sinclair. I'd love to finish the Mane Squeeze tonight, but I'll probably be too tired. Oh well, getting snowed in for the weekend so hopefully will finish those 2 and start another.

I just finished Victoria Dahl's Lead Me On, it was the best of the entire series and I really liked the other two books. The story line was tight and boy do I have a weakness for men like Chase, but don't tell my husband. :-) I started it this morning and finished it about 5 mins ago.

Forbidden Falls for me too- I'm about halfway through.  This one seems shorter than the other VR books- or it just me?  It's pretty good so far.  Nice that the next one is out later this month too!

I previously started Lucky Charm by Carly Phillips so will have to finish that when I'm done with FF.

Keri, I'm glad to hear that Lead Me On is good- I'm still on the WL for that one, and it doesn't seem to be moving very fast.  I enjoyed the others though, so look forward to that one (eventually).

Today I read The Forever Man and yesterday I read The Wives Of Bowie Stone.  Now I am going to start one of my romances that is on someone's wish list.  I need to get some credits for my own WL offers!

I read Open Season last week. I really enjoyed it.

Today I am reading Dreaming of You by Lisa Kleypas, thanks to Sherron (my secret santa) and I LOVE it!! There are some very cute things and I adore the heroine! And I'm only 80 pages in. That's the best kind of book, when you are already thrilled and you have the whole book left to enjoy.

Leslie, I was on the WL for it as well, but my hubby was sweet enough to let me get it today with a gift card that he got from his boss. I couldn't resist, I have no will power or patience for some things. :-)

So many books...so little time.  I am not sure where to even start.

Maybe I can just spread everything out, close my eyes and point to one. But then again, that may not work for me either...I would probably end up cheating myself by peeking.

for my first book of the year, i decided on Dancing with the Devil (Nikki and Michael, Bk 1) by Keri Arthur.  unfortunately, so far it is kind of a chore getting through, and i'm a little more than halfway.  i'd probably have given up by now if this was a new author, but i usually like her stuff so i'm still reading in hopes it gets better.  if not, the rest of the series comes off my WL for sure.

on monday i have to go to the library and pick up five books, and maybe the other two that are on the way will be in by then.  there's three more i expect to come in pretty soon.  some good stuff i've been waiting for, including the new J.D. Robb, the new Jim Butcher (Codex Alera), and Grave Secret by Charlaine Harris.  so my own TBR isn't going to go down huge amounts this month, at least not from reading.  once DH goes back to work on monday i can start the annual year-end TBR sort and purge.  he's had two weeks off, and so of course we've been sick.  not very entertaining.

I started reading Karen Ranney's Sold to a Laird last night, but had to put it aside today because of online traffic school--yawn! That'll teach me to avoid getting a speeding ticket!

I've tried a few of Ranney's other titles, but they were rather lukewarm. But this one sounded good so I thought I'd give her just one more try.

I'm finishing up 2 books I started last year (last week actually).

Bethany's Rite by Eve Jameson

and Death by Darjeeling by Laura Childs.

I need to fnish these before the WL challenge starts tomorrow.  Bethany is WL but I have to mail it out and couldn't wait until the challenge started.

My first read of the year was Suzanne Enoch's new one, but technically I started it last year:P  The first one I picked up this year is Captive of Sin by Anna Campbell.  Like it so far.
