I have fond memories of this book from the year I took German in college (1977-1978), because it represents my most successful attempt to learn a foreign language. It took a multifaceted approach to learning German, giving the student idioms (Na und? comes to mind) as well as the structured grammar. It seemed to cover everything one needed to know to learn German in a 1 year course.
