Hello!

I am getting ready to start my first year teaching in a few weeks and I need to build my classroom library.  I will be teaching 2nd grade, so I am looking for beginning chapter books and series books like, Horrible Harry, Cam Jenson, Junie B. Jones, Authur, Amber Brown, Magic Tree House, Henry and Mudge, Minnie and Moo, and so on.  My team also does author studies on Kevin Henkes, Patricia Polaaco, and Eve Bunting. I do not have a lot of credits, so I am looking for deals. If you can help please post here or PM me! Thanks

~Sarah

*** I have a lot of duplicate children's books on my bookshelf and I am in need of credits! Take a look and PM  me if you want to make a deal!***

Hi-

My son just finished 2nd grade,  but was never as interested in the Junie B's I got him as he was Captain Underpants.  Can't imagine why!  I have Shipwrecked and First Grader.  I will give you them for 1 credit, just pm me if you want them as they are not posted.  I may also have a few more easy readers I will throw in after I dig through his bulging at the seams book shelf!

Good luck with your first year of teaching, and thanks for taking on a career that is soooo important to our children and the future of our country!  Teachers are so amazing!

If you're interested, I have a few Babysitter's Club books, and one that's part of a series called Ghosts of Fear Street. I can send them all to you for one credit if you PM me.

I don't have any appropriate range books, but I have lots of credits, so I just sent you 4 of them----no charge or obligation.  Maybe you can get a lot of books from the people on here that are offering deals.  Good luck!!  My youngest is now 30 y/o, so it's been a long time since he was in second grade!

I have three Little House books. They are The Long Winter, These Happy Golden Years and Little House in the Big Woods.  I would gladly send them to you if you PM me your address. My daughter is in college and will also be a teacher soon, so I know how difficult and expensive it is to stock a classroom, but so important for the children. Hope you enjoy your first year, Good Luck~

I have children's books, too, but what I really want to recommend is that you put your name on the long wishlists immediately for the Graeme Base and Colin Thompson books. Also Flotsam. I wouldn't put them in the library but read them aloud. Well Flotsam has no text, but it would make a great class discussion and writing assignment.

And I can't remember the author's name, but  Henry and the Pirates is one. Really good. I just saw ir on someone's shelf. Also, if you have A-A children, be sure and get some Ezra Jack Keats.

If you get a good children's poetry anthology and read to them, your pupils are at the perfect age for you to inculcate a love of poetry..
