this is more of a pamphlet than a book. too short. we love the rest of her books but this was a disappointment.

Cute illustrations and story. Very short book. Great for those "just one more book, mommy" nights!

This book was a waste of my points. Only eight pages long with a very sketchy story.

Mama finishes reading bedtime stories to her monkeys, And says sweet dreams! lights out! But the five monkeys still want to read. The first choose a funny book and they all laugh and Mama comes back and reminds them to go to sleep.
Next still want to read and choose a scary book. They all scream, Mama hears them. Excuse me she says, "Didn't I tell you no more monkeys reading in the bed. You can read tomorrow. She takes their flashlight and tells them. Lights out, Sweet dreams, and no more noise because I am going to bed!" The last page shows Mama in bed screaming and 5 monkeys standing in her doorway and she says "This is the best, scariest book I've ever read."

Buyer beware! I ordered this book based on the image posted for the book and the reviews (high). Looked great in the posting and I did not see the need to scroll down and read reviews. I wish I had. Turns out this is not a full paperback story of Five Little Monkeys Reading in Bed ... rather it is a four-sheet booklet with a cover -- more like the kind of pamphlety book you might get in a promo pack or see among the kids books in a doctor's office. On the back of the booklet, it states that this is one of a 10-booklet pack! I think the 10 little booklets together would be worth a PBS credit, but don't feel this ONE abridged booklet is.
