This is the first book I've read from the Blanco County series, I think it's the third book in the series. It reminded me of books by Carl Hiaasen and Tim Dorsey - two of my favorite authors - so I enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to reading all the other books in this series.
This feels a lot like transplanted Carl Hiaasen, as various not-very-bright bad guys lollop around a particular landscape (Texas this time, rather than Florida), commiting various kinds of mayhem, sometimes for little or no reason, while simultaneously trying to catch a mythical beastie. Entertaining read.
