An excellent first novel. You learn to enjoy the characters---not only Keely, but that cad of an ex-husband and that rogue boyfriend, because she beautifully balances the positives with the negatives. I'll be on the watch out for more of Jill Smolinski's novels.

Keeley lives in Hawaii, which is not necessarily an island of romance. Her husband has just dumped her for a hula dancer and is now demanding custody of their young son. Her job involves studying an extinct volcano - no wonder it's called a "dead end" job.

THis was a pretty good book. Light reading, great for a beach read! This was her first novel and I would read more by her.
