I have a new favorite author! An adult, as in witty, smart language, very funny with a good "whodunit", plus some sexy scenes--well, how better to waste a day then reading about a gorgeous cat burglary and her "mark", a billionaire who is also gorgeous, trying to stay one step ahead of a murderer.
Great book, love the suspense, humor and romance. This book has great sexual tension between the hero - Rick Addison and the heroine Samantha Jellicoe. I never knew what would happen next. If you love a strong female heroine, suspense, laughs, a gorgeous Brit and some steamy scenes, this book is for you!
It's a fast paced, light-hearted, yet surprisingly rich, mystery/romance!!
Samantha Jellicoe is one of the best, and most expensive, cat burglars in the world. That is why, when a bomb explodes in the very house she is stealing from, at the very moment she is doing her "work", the red flags fly. Keeping the handsome, billionaire owner alive and getting out without getting caught is her first priority, however, it isn't until she discovers her life is in serious trouble later that she is forced to take action.
This book is so much fun, one hates to put it down - even for a moment - to get anything else done! If I didn't think the sex aspect was too soon and too much (totally personal, I admit) this would have been a definite 5 star just for sheer entertainment and excitement!
Sam Jelicoe is an awesome character and this was such a fun book to read. Like the author, To Catch a Thief, starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly came to my mind as well.
Fun and sexy. A knock-your-socks-off ride.
love the series. The Thief and Millionaire. There is art and intrigue a terrific plot. A little eve and roarke with modern setting, more humor, less angsty.
Great book, makes you want to read it in one sitting!
Like a box of chocolate truffles. It is probably not the most edifying book of all time but it is absolutely a dessert book. We get mystery, adventure, sex, romance, hot guys, a teeny bit of art history, and interesting scenery. The fast-talking, snappy dialogue between the hero and heroine is sharp and fun. Yeah the mystery is a bit silly, the situation rather a stretch, but you probably aren't reading this if you are hoping for the next Agatha Christie novel. I like Suzanne Enoch much better as a contemporary romance writer, I never feel completely satisfied with her historical romances. But this is awesome. I am reading the series for a second time and I am sure I will read it again. I LOVE this series and these characters.
Do you like a little steam with your romantic mystery? Then here you go: Wondrous writer Suzie Enoch tries her hand at a modern day romance and succeeds marvelously. The criminal capers keep you wondering as we get to know what drives 2 new characters you'll love. They may seem to be worlds apart, but perilous danger draws the H & H into a inescapable and sexy romance. How does she keep it sizzling between them while all the money power and greed are thrown into the mix? Ah, dear reader, that's what what makes her Suzanne Enoch!
First book on Samantha Jellicoe and Rich Addison series. Fun and action-filled.
Fun romantic novel by great author
First in Suzanne Enoch's "Flirting" series, based on cat burgler: Samantha Jellicoe and British Playboy: Richard Addison.
This is along the lines of the Eve Dallas/Rourke series only better! I love this author no matter what she is writing!
Samantha is a theif, Rick is a British playboy when they are thrown together sparks fly.
Great story! First in the Rick and Samantha series.
This book was a quick read the primary characters were well developed and the story line was almost believable
You often read of artwork that has been stolen and replaced with fakes and this I how you imagine it happens. Richard seems like an unlikely rich guy spending so much time in the States but with the bad weather in England why not?
The Palm Beach job should have been a slam dunk for thief extraordinaire Samantha Jelicoe: relieve a British playboy millionaire of a priceless antiquity. But when an explosion throws her into the arms of said playboy Rick Addison, even a pro like Sam has to review the rules....
This book surprised me; I didn't expect to like it as much as I did.
I was not surprised to find that Ms. Enoch used to write historical romances. I love historical romances, but I mostly like them because they're so historically inaccurate that the exaggerated plots and over-emotional (or maddeningly rational) heroines go with the scenery. Sam Jellicoe is not so bad, but Rick Addison is out of this world--literally. Really, a British billionaire who thinks anybody working at his Florida mansion is "under his roof" therefore "under his protection"? Ms. Enoch tries to make a joke out of it, but it doesn't hold. Coupled with a murder mystery that I had trouble keeping track of (wait, because of what, the main suspect has changed? why is that the best next step to getting to the bottom of this?) and generally mediocre writing, this book is a definite pass. (Of course, if you're just looking to waste time at the beach, you could do worse. Not *all* the sentences were horrendous. :) )
In her dazzling romantic suspense debut, USA Today bestselling author Suzanne Enoch brings us a thrilling tale about a thief who needs to prove she's no murderer and the millionaire who loves her.
Samantha Jellicoe is a thief and proud of it. Raised to appreciate the finer things in life, Sam has no trouble divesting the wealthy of their treasures. This all changed, however, the night she attempts to steal a valuable item from a Palm Beach estate. Before she knew what hit her, a bomb goes off, a guard is killed, and Sam ends up saving millionaire Richard Addison. She's a good thief and will own up to her jobs, but if anyone thinks to tie her to murder, they better think again.
On any other night, having a one hundred plus pounds of female fling herself at you is a good thing. But on this particular night, Richard Addison is mad as hell. Not only did he just have his gallery blown up-with him about to enter it-but the woman who rescued him didn't stick around to offer any explanations. When the dust settles, Rick knows the only person with answers to his questions is the mystery woman. And if she thinks she can hide from him, she better think again.
