Short stories - good for taking along on a trip or for reading at lunchtime.
There is no better reading than Rosamunde Pilcher's short stories. Good characters, good plots, fine writing. Set in England.
Another good Pilcher book - several short stories read quickly but her stories seem to stay with you. Comfort, beauty, romance, travel....what's not to like?
A collection of short stories by the author of "The Shell Seekers". Set in Scotland; stories of family, place, and love. The reviewers say "poignant", "heartwarming", "charming and amusing". I agree.
A wonderful group of stories by Ms. Pilcher, as always.
In this second collection of short stories written after 1985's The Blue Bedroom and Other Stories, Rosamunde Pilcher writes all about love and the pinings of the heart. From the familial style to the bittersweet pang of first love, these sixteen stories showcase all the joys and sorrows experienced by a variety of lively and unique characters. Whether it's a mother's love for her son expressed as she talks to him on the morning of his wedding, or a son's enduring love for his widowed mother and sister, or a headstrong girl's first encounter with love and heartbreak: each story is written with Rosamunde Pilcher's usual warmth, flair, and wisdom.
While millions of readers have become fans of her work through reading her best-selling novels, Rosamunde Pilcher has also been writing short stories for over fifty years. Through a variety of vivid settings the reader is transported back to a simpler time and place; into a thriving world of hope and romance that has become this author's trademark. Flowers in the Rain and Other Stories leaves absolutely no doubt that Rosamunde Pilcher is that rare style of writer whose every work is like a gift of love.
In my opinion, this was a really enjoyable book to read. These are sixteen 'feel good' stories; truly heartwarming and emotionally-satisfying, just all-around delighful reading. I must say that none of the stories were all that complex or taxing for me to read; they were just nice, nice stories. I would certainly give this book an A+!
This author has a warm and gentle style of writing the gets you into the characters hearts and minds within minutes. She can set you in the scene instantly, feelings, tastes, smells and emotional tension. Each of the short stories in this book conveys how ordinary people cope with life, love, pain and loss.I was re-reading a few stories so I could write this review and now I hate to give it up! Enjoy!
This hardcover book is not a large print book.

A collection of poignant short stories exuding Pilcher's finely crafted writing. This was a lovely book to read and re-read whenever I wanted just a short taste of Rosamunde Pilcher's comfortable and engaging story telling.
nice collection of short stories; the kind you find in Good Housekeeping and other magazines.
Her books are always heartwarming
"...Pilcher has an eye for rich detail & her characters are ordinary people who live ordinary lives. Best of all they are likeable, "says the Cincinnati Enquirer. Publisher's Weekly calls this one, "Like a kinder and gentler Daniell Steel [where] romantic stories evolk a compassionate fate. Set in England...they tell of lives illuminated by the possibility of love or about the importance of living life to the fullest". "Her appeal is absolutely understandable & her spell, while you are reading, is unbreakable," states the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
