Loved this book as a kid and wanted to share it with my niece (but of course I had the pleasure of re-reading it first!)

An unusually talented talking dog and a charming little girl with secrets take up residence with a lonely, unhappy woman who has secrets of her own.

One of my all time favorites as a child. I couldn't remember the name and one day saw it on the scholastic book order and was thrilled!

Cute little book, kind of Harry Potter-ish. Worth a read, light and happy. Great x-mas gift for children.

Lots of fun - also good looks into familys and how they get along together and how even children have to take responsibility.

Cute imaginative story but the word 'stupid' is frequently used and we don't use that word in our house. Too bad.
