I made a book list of the foodie books I have (and one on my WL), many I haven't read yet.  The list is open, so if you have a foodie book (not a cookbook or recipe book) feel free to add it or to vote for ones you liked.

I wish I did but don't really know any foodie books. I am, however, about to read "Kitchen Confidential" and excited about that!

I thought Kitchen Confidential was one of the worst books I've read about the industry.  It is on my freebie list for my book deals (see my booklist and shelf).  Be prepared for a lot of aimless rambling, drug use, casual sex, and a LOT of foul language.  There are a lot more books, better written giving a realistic account of restaurant life.

I just added the last food book I read Chocolate: A Bittersweet Saga of Dark and Light. Even though I enjoyed reading it, it made me realize what I was missing out on when it comes to quality chocolate. crying

Oh, yum!  That reminds me, I have a book on the chocolate industry The Emperors of Chocolate Inside the Secret World of Hershey and Mars - still on the TBR pile.

I saw this one while browsing my library's online catalog  http://www.paperbackswap.com/52-Loaves-One-William-Alexander/book/1565125835/  only has one review here and it wasn't too favorable - haven't checked reviews on amazon yet. sounds like it may not focus as much on the bread as I'm thinking it does.

also still haven't read Julie and Julia - saw the movie though

Thanks, Anna!  I have added Chocolate and Zucchini to my wish list because of your suggestion.
