A cute love/mystery story. So of the parts seem to drag on a little. But overall I was a good read.

People come to Goldstone to forget---and be forgotten. Sounds good to SHeriff Tyler Braxton. He needs to get his mind off his past. But when he's wrangled into investigating his brother in law's suspected affair with ingamous local author Simone Chandler, i's his present that gets complicated. Especially when his brother in law turns up murdered! Bad Idea #1 -- Coming to Goldstone, Nevada, for vacation
Bad Idea #2 -- Not getting out when he had the chance

While not awful, this book couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a mystery or a romance. Either way, each element was thin. This is my first book by this author though, so someone else who enjoys her work would probably enjoy this book. Lisa

A different, as far as plot goes, and very funny, romantic book. A murder, a ex-software Exec. and a sheriff are in this nifty mix. A dash of crazy prostitutes, a Madam, a sleezy hotel promoter, plus other zany characters make this book a must read.

Bad Idea #1--Coming to Goldstone, Nevada, for vacation. Bad Idea #2--Not getting out when he had the chance. Simone writes internet erotica. That doesn't make her a home wrecker of a muderer. But what on earth is she doing in Goldstone?

I really didn't like Brax in "Sex & the Serial Killer", but in its sequel (Fool's Gold), he turned out to be a pretty stand-up guy who I began to root for and could hardly wait for the (hopefully) happy ending.

"Fool's Gold" picks up where "Sex & the Serial Killer" leaves off. However, it's not necessary to read them in order or to even read the "Sex" at all because it has very little to do with "Gold". "Sex" ends with Brax solving the murder of a close friend. He then goes on vacation to Goldstone, Nevada to his sister's to clear his head after the investigation.

Instead, he finds his sister in the midst of major marital woes and wants to help. While there he meets Simone Chandler, a closet author of online erotica. The two become involved in not only a hot, love affair, but also another complicated murder investigation that where everybody in town is a possible suspect.
