9:00 on A&E.  That's central time so check your local listings.  It looks as if they will be showing it again immediately after the first showing.

I missed it - can't stay up that late but I've jotted down other times it'll be replayed this week so I'm hoping I can catch it at some point. At worst, it's on at 5 p.m. this coming Saturday if I don't mind waiting almost a week.

I watched it, but I wasn't exactly thrilled with it.

Keri, I wasn't impressed either. I haven't read the books so didn't really have anything to compare to.

I wasn't thrilled with it either. It was kind of slow moving. Hopefully it will get better as it goes on, though.

I don't want to spoil it for anybody, but I didn't think they really had Walt's characterization down that well. The tightly woven funny and witty dialog that Walt and Henry have in the book, didn't carry over that well into the show. Gail you watch it and tell us what you thought.

Terry just know that the books are much better than the show is.

I haven't read any of the books either but did watch the show.

I thought that it moved a little slow also but am hoping that it will pick up.  I'll watch it again though especially since there really isn't anything else on too much at that time.  That I watch anyway.

I fell asleep with A&E on around 10:00 and woke up at 10-minutes-left in the show but didn't see enough of it to comment.

11:00 p.m. my time is really late for me, but it's on at 5 p.m. on Saturday so I should be able to catch the whole thing then.

I watched and thought that it was okay.  Not great but okay.  Because I recognized so much of the scenery from New Mexico, it was fun for me to spy familiar landmarks.

I had the opportunity to see Craig Johnson just yesterday at a book signing and he gave some explanation. He said that the pilot, where people and places are introduced, is much slower than the other episodes because there is a need to offer up a beginning, a middle, and an end to an audience who may or may not be familiar with the books. He was actually quite pleased with the treatment of his work and is quite enthusiastic about the series.  He promises that thing will get better as things move along.  Of course, he is getting a nice paycheck from the whole endeavor so that colors things quite a bit for him! LOL!

Anyhow, I'll continue to watch if only for the New Mexican landscape!

DH and I watched it, and he liked it more than I did, although I thought they did a good job introducing the characters.  It reminded me a bit of the Jesse Stone series of TV movies in the pacing and main character.

For some reason, parts of the dialog seemed like they spoke too fast to be understood.  Maybe I was tired, but I don't generally have a problem with fast speech.

I would like to watch the Saturday episode. Everyone has said " 6 PM" on Saturday. I'm in Mountain time. Can anyone tell me when they think the time will be here? Our paper no longer publishes a weekly or daily TV schedule. I, too, would like to try to identify the New Mexico landmarks. Where I live, though in Texas, is really more like New Mexico!      Thanks     M'ann

I watched it again. Sunday for us in the Dallas area 9 pm CST on A and E. Again it was ok, they changed Longmire's character, IMO, to such a degree that I don't connect with him as well as I do in the books. I have just decided they aren't going to be like the books and can just accept it for what it is.

I have it set to record--once there's a few of them I will watch them and see if they develop a bit. Sometimes the translation of book to TV/movie has little resemblance. I remember when I watched The Dresden Files, was really disappointed with how that was handled...the series was actually fine, but it was just so unlike the books that it wasn't recognizable as the same thing. I think others have said the same about the "Bones" series on TV--very little in common with the Kathy Reichs Temperance Brennan books. (I haven't watched it, and have only read the first in that series, so can't comment to that myself.)

I've watched the first three and I think that they are getting better. Last night's episode had a bit more of Walt's humor peeking through so that's good.  The TV show is definitely not following the books in any linear sort of way but I think that it is capturing some of the spirit of the books. I will say this though.  Branch Connelly is a scurvy pig dog and Robert Taylor looks like George W Bush.

You got that right LeeAnn and when Walt finds out the entire truth...somebody is going to get hurt. I liked it better last night for what it was.

I enjoyed the 2nd episode a lot, but I'm having a hard time finding a repeat showing of last Sunday's episode. A&E doesn't make it easy for people to catch an episode if it was missed Sunday evening.

There are endless episodes of "Storage Wars" and "Dog" (yikes!) (shudder) but try to find a repet of "Longmire" - forget it. Last Saturday at 5 p.m. I caught the 2nd episode; this coming Saturday at 5 p.m., according on my cable remote search option, they are NOT showing Longmire. What's with that!? I'll have to try their website again, which is an exercise in frustration.

It's growing on me. Husband likes it so it's something we can watch together. We haven't read the books and that's probably best-no expectations.

Sometimes it takes me a while to get used to the actors. Last week's episode was pretty good.

I suppose I should try to watch it pretty soon before the hubby records over it...I've had him record stuff before that I never watched...he keeps saying, "Are you ever going to watch this?" and I say, "Yes, dear." But then forget about it.

I told him he should watch it, as he generally likes westerns and cop shows, but I think he figures if I like it, he won't. ::rolls eyes:: Maybe I'll tie him to his chair and make him watch with me. LOL

I've been enjoying it more and more, too. And I was happy to read that A&E has renewed it!

I have not read the books, but was looking for something other than the Olympics last night. I am enjoying the Olympics, but needed a diversion. On A&E was this show. Luckily for me, the pilot was first and it ran for 4 or 5 hours. Maybe because I had not read the books, or whatever, I enjoyed the the first of the series.
