Excerpt: SUNDAY MORNING, MAY 11, 1873. " Strengthen ye the weak hands and confirm fie feeble knees. Say ye to them that are of a fearful hear', Be strong: fear not : behold your God will come with vengeance ; He will come wilh a recompense; He will come and save you." -- Isaiah xxxv. 3, 4. How many illustrations and similitudes it has pleased God to use in His Word, to show us, by simple things generally understood, what He designs to teach us of His new creation work -- what manner of persons they are who are new creatures, having gracious faculties and gracious limbs ; for if we are new creatures we are God's work, " God's husbandry," " God's building " in Christ Jesus -- we are " the body of Christ." What a solemn and comforting reflection this is! Christ will not cast away his own body. Herein lies His care for His members -- " little ones," not great ones, but made little in their own eyes, willing to be taught of God and to receive the kingdom of God as a littli! child. He says it were better for anyone that a millstone were hanged about his neck and he be cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. O pray, long to be one of these. They have the special regard of God: " In heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven." Hence they are thankful when in the smallest degree they can discern that they have those living faculties, those living limbs, which are called into action, and which act and move by the Spirit of God.
