Topic: Free Book Fridays' - Here Again, Gone Again?

I've enjoyed the Free Book Friday's giveaways (never won . . . yet). Just wondering if anyone knew what's happening with it. Seems its here for awhile and then forgotten about for a while. I try to remember each Friday to look and see if its still up and running (offered). The last two (and today!) Fridays it was (edited - not offered) Any ideas on this? Enjoy the weekend. I just checked and it looks like the last one was at the end of April. I don't see any for May. |

Jeanne, Did that include last week and this week? And if you got an email invite or reminder for Free Book Friday last week and/or this week were you actually able to apply/put in an entry for that weeks contest? I've always enjoyed the concept of the Free Book Friday contests but it seems to run some weeks and is 'lost in the mail' on other weeks...would be nice if its going to be on 'hold' for a period of time that they (PBS) would announce it in the Free Book Friday section so that members don't have to fruitlessly search for it - I don't get reminders for Free Book Friday...but come Friday I always go looking so's I could put in an entry, if I don't see 'it' Friday then I figure someone's asleep at the wheel and I try again Saturday....if it's not available Saturday then I figure whoever is running the show has the weekend off perhaps so I wait til Monday...then I give up until the next Friday rolls around again - then repeat the process...if it's available on Friday then I get to put in an entry and move on to 'other things' (such as reading the Discussion Forum stuff)....

Yes, I got a reminder email within past few days, but I don't always register for the free book unless it interests me. though I first heard about it here, I do not believe PBS is responsible for this giveaway. I posted the following in CMT: The newswire mentions the blog specifically highlighting Free Book Friday and giveaways, but go to the blog via the newswire link and the last Free Book Friday listed is April 26. Ditto giveaways.
It seems only the Free Book Friday email will take one to the contest and I didn't get one today. |
