Has anybody else noticed this, or does anybody know what/why it is?

Evertime I click on from somebody's bookshelf, when it opens the book's page... on the title bar (the very top of the Internet Explorer window) says "Free Book!" and then the title of the book and the rest of the stuff is normal. I can't find any reference to this on the page or anywhere else.

What gives?????

I just saw that too!  I've noticed a few "tweaks" on the site lately, I'm guessing that's one of them :)

I'm not seeing it.  Now I wonder if it's changed or if I didn't understand what you meant.

Its on the tab. I dont get it either. I really dont get why they insist on calling this free books. We pay in one way or another for our credits. The site is free to use but the books are by no means free.

Could it be leftover somehow from April 1st?  There was a Free Book link put up as an April Fool's day joke.  If you're still seeing it, try clearing your cache; I bet it will go away when you do.  Just a thought.

I've been seeing it too. I too wondered if it was left over from April 1st.

I saw it on one book I checked this morning, but when I checked another it wasn't there.

I hope it's not a "coming feature" because the books aren't free.

It seems like it's on books that are available in the system. It doesn't show up on my wish listed books, but it does show on the ones that are on my bookshelf.

Well, PBS is not a store. The books here are "free" in the sense that we're not simply buying books. But it's true that they're not absolutely "free," like a gift. We're trading books and paying for the postage to do so.

Well, hmmm..

I'm still seeing it. But you're right, it doesn't say that on Wishlist books.

Geri, sure I'm offering a free book. Just order one and you can pick out a free one. ;)

Geri and Marilyn, it's in the page title. To see it, hold down the ctrl key and click on somebody's name in this thread. That will take you to the member's profile in a new browser tab. Click on the number under "Books Listed" to see that person's bookshelf, then click on one of the book titles. The browser tab will now say "Free Book!" followed by the title of the book you clicked on.

If you are not using a tabbed browser, then it will appear in the title of the browser window.

Hrm. It looks like it is on all the available books.

How annoying.

There is already enough "What do you expect?  It's a free book!" going around.  This isn't going to help.

Besides, this is the most expensive place I get books.  Used books around here are usually $1 or less!  Hardly free. :P
