I have been testing this feature out.  I went to a friend's wishlist and picked a book. I then searched for the book, without using the friend's check box and it came up fine.  I used the friend's checkbox and it did not come up.  What am I dong wrong please?  How else can I find if a friend has a book on wishlist?

I am not understanding what you are trying to do. Are you trying to post one of your wish list books to a friend? If so all you have to do is click on the button that says post this book and it gets posted to your friend. At least I think that is how I remember doing it. LOL

As far as I can tell, you can not use the search function to check the wishists of your friends. That is a feature that would be really handy, if it was available.  I am often checking their wishlists individually for books in series that do not have ISBNs.

I found this inside this thread click here ⇒ About posting to a friend

If you use the Post Book option under My Account and enter the ISBN number, the friends wishing will show up before you post the book. Just don't finish posting any that do not show.
This feature does not show up if you post from your bookshelf or the book detail page.  But it does show up there.
(I will open a second window with my friend's wish list to check for multiples.)

Yes, but I did test it ith a book that is on my friend's WL and clicked the checkbox for all friends and it did not come up in the search.  When I did it without the box checked, it came up[.

So, thed checkbox that says friends is not working

What I am doing is trying to figure out how this works with the advanced search menu.  Any book that I search with all books and having the friends box checked, should bring up my friend's name ho are wishing, but it is not.  Ho do I get it to do that?

There is some programming going on with the Advanced Search right now, so it isn't working.  Not sure when it is expected to be done.

I just tried it and it works!

from your account

1. click post books

2. Type in isbn

3.  Look at bottom right of screen for friends wishing.

I think it was highlighted in green.  There was one friend wishing, I scrolled the drop down menu to see a total of 3 friends wishing for the book.(over 500 wishers).  Then I think you pick a friend, I guess you click on the friends name. I would check other wl books too.

Then I deleted the ISBN because I have not yet read the book.

good to know the right way to do this!  Going to friends' WL and looking thru the list was just too cumbersome!

I would pm someone first to see if they wanted me to post several books to them.  They might not have enough credits or not sure if they want the book.
