It was interesting to read the next part of the story from Frightful's view, but I didn't really care for this installment any more than I did the previous ones. It was a good story, just not my taste is all. It had a somewhat fun adventure story, but was a bit too preachy on wilderness survival and human impact on wildlife for me. I'm all for knowing these things, but I'm well past the age that I want to read a lecture on them. So, good for pre-teens (especially boys), but not quite so much for adults, unless you're really into wildlife and the wilderness.
It captured my mind to see what went on after the book My Side of The Mountain ended. This is an awsome book.
Beloved author who won Newberry Honors for first book in the trilogy comprising My Side of the Mountain, On the Other Side of the Mountain. This is the third book in the trilogy, written forty years after the first one. Adventure story about a boy and falconing.
In the final ending to this series,Sam Gribley has been told it is illegal to have an endangered bird so he must release his falcon, Frightful. Has Sam trianed his bird well enough, or does Frightful lack the skills to survive? Read it yourself to find out.
This is the third book in the trilogy by Jean Craighead George. If you enjoyed reading about the adventures of Sam Gribley in My Side of the Mountain, you will love hearing the rest of the story. This book focuses on Frightful, Sam's peregrine falcon. Great read!
My son really liked this book.
Frightful's Mountain continues the adventure of Sam Gribley and his magnificent falcon, Frightful, from the fresh story of survival and independence, My Side of the Mountain. The soaring magnifence of both stories tugs at the strings of your heart, making you long to see the open skies and majestic mountains yourself.
This is the third and most wonderful book in the series!! It is in good shape!
This is the third of a series, that begins with My Side of the Mountain and On the Far Side of the Mountain. It is about a boy who is a falconer, his falcon, Frightful, and their adventures. My son enjoyed these books, which were on his summer reading list for 4th and 5th grade.
All books in this trilogy are outstanding reads. My son is reading them for the second time.
This is a sequel to My Side of the Mountain and On the Far Side of the Mountain. A great read!
Excellent book where Ms. George continues the saga, but this time from Frightful's perspective. The challenges facing a trained falcon in here first year of freedom is engaging and enlightening.
My 12 yr. old son loved this book!
