This is one of my all-time favorite cookbooks. Background to go along with the recipes, that 'famous' Chicago deep dish pizza, amazingly good ideas for common foods, and a terrific help when kids were in scouting & school and needed to take a regional &/or historical food for a project.

Who can forget the excitement of Jeff Smith's early years on television? In this book the Frug cooks "American". Typical Frug, many comments and history lessons, but great recipes.
