Sue Ann Jaffarian's Odelia Grey's mysteries are a riot. Meet a plus sized woman packing a whole lot of brains and attitude. Start with Too Big To Miss.

Enjoy, and thanks for whoever posted about this series to begin with!

Would you say these are along the same line as Evanovich's Stephanie Plum series?  My mom has read thru that series & I would love to recommend something to her like the Plum books.

Shayla I don't recall her being as cutesy/funny as Stephanie Plum..the theme of Too Big to Miss is a bit darker too; at least I thought it was. I have the 2nd one in  my TBR but haven't read it yet though I did start it a while back for some reason..probably just flipping through when it arrived in the mail. I don't know if they're all that way or not. She's pretty neat though!

I would say that it's more sarcastic humor in this one, as opposed to the almost slapstick humor of the Evanovich series. Does that make any sense?

Okay you said "darker"...in what way?  I KNOW my mom won't read anything "scary".    :)

well I said 'darker' in the subject matter..in evanovich's books there's a lot of humor but I dont' recall death, etc..I think the most gruesome thing in hers, other than book 12!, was the one where this guy cut a woman's finger off at the tip...this other book has a murder and it was sorta disturbing to me how it occurred though 'dark' probably isn't the right word. It's a good book just not light and cutesy like evanovich..
