Embarassments and misadventure from such luminaries as Bill Bryson, Anne Lamott, Dave Barry, Douglas Adams, JP Donleavy... but my favorites have to be David Sedaris describing the "Rabbit of Easter" to a Moroccan student in French class, Donald Katz interviewing the king of the "ferret-leggers", and Randy Wayne White taking a jumping frog on a cross-country train trip to Sedona, Arizona.

I tried and tried, but just could not finish this book. I have had more amusing adventures on some of my own vacations. Maybe it got better after the first half of the book, but I will never know because I had to just stop and move on to something more amusing and entertaining.

An entertaining compilation of quick and clever travel essays. If it has Tim Cahill's name on it, as author or editor, it promises to be a worthwhile read. This book is a most excellent choice to amuse you during the endless delays of travel.
