I wasn't sure if I should post this in this forum or in the science ficiton one. I'm trying here first because the books are romance in addition to being sci fic--at least that's what I understand them to be.

Is anyone aware of a series of books that features a female doctor on a space-ship (or at least a space station). She's an emergency type doctor and goes to other planets. She is married (or at some point in the series falls in love). Does anyone have an idea of what series this is? I'd like to at least get it on my wish-list or reminder list if the books are available.

Thanks.

the StarDoc books by S.L. Viehl seem to fit that.  she starts out on a planet, meets an alien and gets married, and then is in space for a lot of the series after that.  the same author writes paranormal romances as Lynn Viehl, and apparently also write other romances under other names: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._L._Viehl

That sounds really interesting. I might have to try it out myself.

I just read Stardoc a couple weeks ago and really liked it!   I think it may be the one you're thinking of too -- you just described the basics to a T.

I've heard it called a "space opera" which also fits it to a T!  Editing to add:  But for the die-hard romance readers, know that this is a sci-fi series.  Can't tell you if it's got a HEA ending since I've only read the first book so far, but the emphasis is on the adventures of Cherijo the space doc in action.  Lots of fun though!
