I know we rag on the USPS a lot so wanted everyone to know that since I moved to new home in August, I have sent out over a dozen books (mostly media mail) and NONE have taken even a week to arrive!  When I was in northern IL with my mail going thru Chicago, media mail usually took a full 2 weeks.  So   KUDOS to the PO system!

I agree with you, Jeanne. We find it easy sometimes to crab about the PO system, but we really should give them a pat on the back when it is due. I live in western Illinois and mailed a book to Michigan from my little rural post office one afternoon. It was marked received the next afternoon. And lately  books I have ordered have gotten to me in 4-5 days. The packages have all been in really good shape and my very nice mailman always gives his customers excellent service.    Terri W.  smiley

Welcome to the Tampa area Jeanne.  I have to agree, in my 3+ years with PBS, I've never had any problems with the many Tampa POs and annexes.

It does make a difference as to how much volume the PO does.  When I lived in HI, my local PO was small so Media Mail could sit there for 7-10 days if the mail trucks were full of higher priority mail.   So I started bringing my packages to a larger PO, not much further away.  But I know those in rural areas don;t always have an option of another mailing point

I am at a very tiny rural post office, but all of the mail gets picked up daily as far as I can tell. Once it gets to the sorting center, the media mail might sit there for a few days, not sure since I don't usually track my media mail.
