This game involves listing 3 things, only 2 of which are true about you. This will help us get to know one another even better. LOL!

The object is to guess which of the 3 is NOT true. The first to select the right answer then posts 3 things about herself/himself.

So, I'll start:

a: At the tender age of 5, I made a complete idiot of myself on the Bozo show.

b: I married at the age of 19.

c: I teach history at a major university.

Genie, I think "C" is not true.

At least, I'm hoping "A" IS true!! LOL

I'm going to say that you do not teach history. I think are a researcher, but you have taught at a universtory. Oh, I'm probably wrong.

1. I have five dogs, six cats, two goldfish, and two iguana's, but some of this could change on any given day.

2. I've never had a "real" job.

3. When I was 17, I was almost sold into prostitution while vacationing in Mexico.

Oops! Vicky beat me!

Vicky did beat you. LOL! I do teach at a university, but history is not my subject. I teach research to journalism students.

Okay, let's see: Valli, I don't believe "C"

A) I am on my third husband

B) I used to teach belly dancing to bored housewives

C) I was almost hit by a car driven by Rod Stewart

So are we supposed to wait to see if we're correct before we post our own things?

I'm going to guess no. 2, Valli.  You read too much. You can't possibly work at a "real" job!  LOL!

ETA - Just realized I'm not being clear.  I guess I'm thinking #2 might be true.  In fact, all of them sound plausible.  I guess I won't guess at all!  LOL!

Okay - I'm waiting on the answer to Shelley's question ... but in the meantime, Vicky, I'm going to go with #1 as being untrue. I just don't think you are on Husband #3.

But props to you - I gave due consideration to both of the others as being the false one ...

Kelly, I'm sorry, but I AM on my third husband!  (Third time's the charm!)  I guess I'm just the marrying kind.

Good for you, Vicky! I was Bil's 3rd wife ... he would tell me he was always looking for me; just took him awhile to find me.

Number two was not true. I have had a "real" job!  I consider a real job as a place where your Mom doesn't work, lol.

I actually did almost get sold while in Mexico, but didn't realize it until after it was over. I was just trying to get directions and when the first man I asked told me to go down the street to talk to an older man, I said okay and went because I thought maybe he didn't understand me or something. So, I go about five doors down away from where my friends are to speak to this other man. The two men started talking and I just stood there like a moron because I couldn't understand a word, but then,  the two men started arguing rather loudly and the older man shoved the younger guy. A friend of mine, Bryan,  was walking up and calling for me to come to him, so I did, but until he yelled my name, I was frozen. As I turned to walk away, the older guy grabbed my arm, but let go right away when my friend yelled at him. It wasn't until we'd gotten away in the car that my friend, who speaks and understand Spanish, told me that they were arguing over the price of something, time with me! My friend said the amount was 40 American dollars. 40 bucks? For me? I think not!  Now, there is no way I'd let my teenager go to a country without adults, where he can't speak and understand the language! We were young and really stupid teenagers. At that age, you don't believe that anything bad will ever happen to you.

Who is next?

Okay, I guess I"m supposed to tell you what is false:  the belly-dancing teacher stuff.  I would love to know how to belly dance, but I don't.

I did almost get hit by a car on Rodeo Drive.  A Red Lamborghini (sp?) with Rod Stewart behind the wheel.  What a way to go,eh?  Luckily my friend grabbed me by my collar and jerked me back as I stepped off the curb.

Someone else jump in here now! ;D

Ah, I see a glitch. LOL.

The person who guesses correctly posts 3 things, 2 of which are true. The object is to guess the untrue thing. If 2 of the guesses are wrong, then someone just has to come along and snag the right answer.

Let's start again:

  1. I have red hair.
  2. I have a blue and black great dane that stands 7 feet tall on two legs.
  3. In 1983, I was passenger in a cab in Mexico City when the police surrounded the vehicle and arrested the driver.

P.S. Wait for the original poster to let you know if your answer is correct before posting your 3 things.

We'll get the hang of this eventually, Genie. Maybe. LOL!

I'm going to say that number TWO is not true. Mainly because I believe you can get into all sorts of trouble in Mexico. It's fun though. ;-)

Valli, You are correct! I can't be near many types of animals b/c of severe allergies. I've had mom guilt over this for many years. :/

We are kindred souls, dear. Your turn.

If somebody else wants to take a turn while we wait for Valli, please go ahead. (Valli may be MIA for a few days.)

I'll go in Valli's stead, although I doubt I'm more interesting than she is.

1)  I have four children by two different men ranging in age from 23 to 7.

2)  I am an only child.

3)  I once crashed into the ocean while parasailing in Cancun, landing on and almost severly injuring the owner of the parasailing operation.

Hey Shelley -- I seem to remember that you chose your birthday book based on your brother's birth year so I'm going to say that #2 is not true -- that you're not an only child.

ETA: Laughing (in a sympathetic way) about #3, the parasailing crash -- too good not to be true. And #1 -- wow -- that's quite an age spread!

What I wanna know is how you find such young men. ;)

Alice, I can see all three of those being true!

I'm going to say #2 is false.

Well, I didn't respond because no one guessed correctly yet!  But since Alice has gone, I'll set you straight -

1.  Yes, I do in fact have four children ages 23, 20, 10, and 7.  It should be noted that I was married to both men who are the fathers of said children and not at the same time!  I am still married to DH no. 2, who is the father of the 10 and 7 year olds!

2.  Deb, very observant (and a great memory), but  I am an only child.  I am the only child of my two biological parents, who divorced when I was 2 years old.  I have a half sister and a half brother from my mother's second marriage (who are 11 and 14 years younger than me respectively), but technically I am actually an only child.

3.  This is the one that's not true.  Although it is loosely based on a bad parasailing experience I did have while in Cancun, I did not actually crash into the ocean and land on the parasailing guy!

Would it be too confusing if, to keep the game moving, we had several people posting at once. In other words, while we wait for Alice to let Vicky know if she guessed correctly, someone else can post 3 things about themselves. In fact, 2 or 3 people can post at once and that might keep the game moving a bit.

Whadaya think?

I think that would work.

Actually Vicki you guessed wrong. It is number 3. I do not coach softball, but I have spent many hours sitting at my kids softball, baseball, basketball, track, soccer and field hockey.  Actually at softball last year a fellow book lover told me about PBS!!!

I no longer work in engineering, I am now a training program manager. When I got my degree in mechanical engineering only 10% of the class were woman (hasn't improved  much from what I have heard. My daughter is 15, and son will soon be 12. We are all readers, my husband too. We have way too many books in my house.

I am down to 4 cats. Often I have two dogs but the other one lives down the street and comes for play dates. If you are allergic to animals my house is not the place for you. My cats like to help me read books at night. The worse was I had just finished a WL book that I was about to send. Kitty puked all over it and gave me this look as to say sorry mommy couldn't help myself. That book visited Mr Trash can.

Okay I'll go.

1.  Keith Richards of the Rolling Stone grabbed my bum.

2. I was with a group of climbers in the Teton Mountains going to a place called Table Rock, when a storm hit and 3 people were killed by a lightening  strike.

3.  I worked at a Nuclear Powers Research Facility.

Letty, I'm going to guess that #1 is wrong. The other two sound dramatic and serious  enough that they are probably true and I think that would suit you!
