With so many religions, why is there only a christian forum?

Thanks

There's a religion and spirituality forum a little further down the page.  I assume that enough people asked for a seperate Christian book recommendation forum that the site owners made one.  I believe that's how many of the forums came into being - by popular request.

While on the subject of forums,  I wish there was a "Club Members Book-Related Thoughts" forum.  It takes a lot of time to sift through all the other subjects in Club Member's Thoughts, and sometimes important club related info appears in this forum.  Nothing wrong with all the other topics, but it would be nice to not feel like I had to look at all of them every day in order to catch club-related stuff.

The Hidden Gems Forum is more book related - you might want to check there.

Lisa, I agree with Sarra. I am sure that other religions could have their own forum also if they only ask. Until then the RELIGION AND SPIRITUALITY forum can be used for any religion discussion.

That's a question to ask R&R.

They may start something new if asked.  Possibilities are endless....

They already have Cooking, LGBTQ, and Money/Business so they could add Reheating Leftovers, Straight People, and Debt/Broke.

Hidden Gems is almost all talk about books also the genre forums are mostly about books as well. There are a few exceptions to that the Religio and Spirituality forum doesnt get a lot of talk about books nor does the LGBTQ forum. Those are more topic discission not book discission.

The Christians probably have their own forum because they spoke up and asked for it. I don't think there is any conspiracy at work here.;-)  If anyone wants a specific forum for anything, all you have to do is show that there is enough interest in the subject and ask for it. R&R are usually quite obliging.  In the meantime, there could always be a post made in the Religion forum that is dedicated to a specific religion. That would work well until R&R see if there is enough interest to make a new, dedicated forum.

Also you could start a post asking if others would be interested in a forum. Just an example you could ask something like "Would any other Buddhists like a forum?" Thats pretty much how the LGBTQ forum started.

Reheating Leftovers

ROFL!!!!!!!!!!

But yes Lisa, it's just a case of enough folks asking for it.

No, not at all - some of us just need more of a nudge than others to actually DO it!

What's that you say - the purpose of a fridge isn't so that the leftovers have someone to sit until they die??  Who knew?!

In libraries (or at least all the ones I worked for), there is a special genre of Christain fiction.  I don't think we've ever had a genre for other religions.

Christian fiction is usually romance novels with no sex.  "Harlequin-Lite" is what we call it.  We have standard waiting lists for books that we haven't even ordered yet, it's so popular.

I don't know what falls into the Christian genre here, though, and if it's strictly fiction or also includes non-fiction as well.

I'm thinking a thread that says Reheating Leftovers/Cooking Impaired may be a winning genre! Also, tips on where the cooking impaired can get the cheapest take-out.
