I noticed that Black Magic Sanction, the latest Rachel Morgan installment by Kim Harrison, which is scheduled to release on Feb. 23 is showing available at thebookdepository.com in the audio CD format on Feburary 1st. I've listened to the rest of the series on audio & would LOVE to get my hands on this early. Do you think this is a mistake, and if I order it I won't get it until after the 23rd? or have any of you gotten books early from there?

Have you looked at Amazon UK to see if the release date is different?  Sometimes the US and UK release dates differ.  Also note that it will be coming from the UK, which does slow the shipping slightly.

I did check Amazon UK and another UK sites I came across when I searched the ISBN #. Both of those show the Feb. 23rd date.  So, I'm in a quandry. I would hate to order it and have to wait until AFTER the 23rd when I could run to the store on the 23rd to pick it up.  Can you tell I'm addicted to this series? lol

I have not bought any pre-releases from them.  I do not like the policy that they charge you at the time of the order rather than the time of the shipping.

That's good...it took 11 business days for my 3 books to arrive!

I order from there quite frequently and there have been a couple of times where they've shipped the book prior to the release date here in the U.S.  In fact, I ordered one today that comes out on Tuesday and it says it is available for order (not preorder).

I've orderd pre releases and gotten them slightly ahead of the release date.  But that was over the holidays and they apparently didn't ship from Dec. 22ed until after the new year.. When they did ship my order I received it in four days.

What I want to know is why is the audio version being released 3 months before the paperback, darn it!

They probably want people who can't wait for the book and pay three times as much for the audio that they wouldn't have bought.

does anyone know if you order more than one book from bookdepository if they're shipped separately? I ordered 2 on the same order and the package arrived opened but with one book inside. I don't think there's room for 2nd book but just wondering if maybe I can kiss that one goodbye..seems like I've always gotten one book per package but can't remember if I ordered them separately or at the same time...

Susanna,

Book Depository generally ships books seperately.  If I order more than one copy of the same book, they usually come together, but otherwise it's seperate packaging.

Book Depository release dates are accurate as far as I know ... I ordered Grave Secret from them a week before it came out here and had it on my doorstep 5 days later ... still before the release date.

I LOVE Book Depository. Although I've noticed that the prices aren't as cheap as they used to be. Used to be able to find 3.99 on new release paperbacks and 50 percent off new release hardbacks and I haven't seen any lately. The HB seem to be 36 percent now and the paperbacks only a buck or so off.

I missed this when I posted before .... yes, as someone said they ship all books, no exceptions, separately BUT there is no need to kiss any book you order from them goodbye.

Their customer service is some of the best and most prompt I've seen. I had problems with two books that I ordered and immediately they reshipped the books and I didn't have to return the defective books.

Their customer service is one of the reasons I'll keep ordering from them despite the not-so-steep discounts as of late. And of course, free shipping doesn't hurt either!

yeah i have noticed their prices too. Just a few weeks ago i ordered some hollows and all the morganville vamp books from them and didn't pay over 3.98...now i go searching and the least i have seen is 5.99...which to be honest i can get from walmart :( Never had any problems with them though and still will always check out the site first. As for the release dates. I now have 2 copies of Come hell or high water, yet i can't order it from them since it says its not released for 2 more weeks. Strange how they have different dates than us so far. But I have noticed that some books say "preorder" before release date and others say "add to cart". I'm assuming you can order the books ahead of time if they say you can add em.
