One yesterday and one today- didn't receive an email to notify me about either one.  Is anyone else having this problem?

There is a new red square above to the left of the yellow in blue checkmark, which is to the left of the blue in yellow "need help" block.

If you read your PM while online or I believe, even visit your PM section, they will no longer send you an email that you had a PM. I don't know if this is an opt out feature or not, if it is it would be in your settings down near the bottom where it discusses emails.

Hmmm... there's one there for not receiving emails about PMs, but that's always been there, and I dont think it has to do with the new feature.

Thanks Sherry, I was not aware of that change.  However, that is not what has been happening for me.  When log onto my computer, I always check my email first, before logging on to PBS.  I got no email about PMs, but when I logged into PBS, I had them.  Maybe they are still working out the kinks to this new feature.

Some members are reporting they have no red message bubble, but the pm e-mail is also absent.

I haven't seen a red bubble, but then I haven't been looking for one either.  And now that you mention it and have me looking, I don't have one of those blue check marks that Sherry mentioned either.  What is that, anyway, and what does it mean if I don't have one???

The yellow checkmark (in a blue background) shows when you have any PMs, books en route and books requested. You shouldn't have one ALL the time but only when there's something in your account that needs your attention (like marking a book received, or a reading a PM or responding to a request.)

ETA: They added the red circle so people could tell right away they had a message. For instance, now I have a Book En Route so the yellow checkmark will be 'on' until I receive the book. In the past I had to check it constantly to make sure I didn't have a PM.

Now I can tell I have a PM right away when I'm online without hovering over the yellow bookmark.

Thanks D.G.- this is one of the rare times that I have nothing coming or going from my account, so I guess that's why I have no check mark.

Still can't figure why I got no emails about the PMs from the last couple of days, but guess I will wait and see if the problem continues.

They did also say that they were still working on the timing, that sometimes it doesn't actually log you out until you've been gone for about 45 min. So, maybe it assumed you saw the notice since you were online (or it thought you were) and so it didn't send the email? I thought tho, it said it wouldn't send the email only if you didn't READ the PM. But, I know that the red box has cleared when I simply went to my PM center, not having read them yet, just was on the page where I could see them. So, I'm betting there may still be some kinks that we may have to wait for a week or so for them to get all straightened out.
