If you really believe that marriage is a spiritual path this book is for you. Hendrix outlines ways to reinvigorate flagging relationships and encourages the reader to take responsibilitly for their own emotions and issues while cutting their partner some slack. Not all marriages should be saved, but many don't have to fail. This book shows that with compassion, patience and rigorous self examination a relationship can be the ground for spiritual transformation and personal growth.
From the back cover: "This book will help any couple find the love they want, hidden under all the concealing confusion of a close and intimate relationship." "This lovely and significant book is for people whose marriages are troubled, as well as for those who want to enrich their marriages."

Its not a text book but was used in a psyche class I took a few years ago on Committed Relationships. An interesting book for anyone who wants to understand their relationships better, and not necessarily just for people who are in a relationship that has hit a rough patch.
