I almost put this book down as it was slow going at first, but I'm glad I kept reading. PI Diana hooks up with Dr. Jack Austin, Discovery Channel's favorite, and hot, archeologist. The story starts off rather blandly. I never did totally warm up to Diana, but she did finally develop some character. Jack is a sweetie. The technicalities of the story don't always gel, and I thought the ending was too simplistic after all the effor the author put into attempting to create a believable motive, but the romance ended up warm and believable. I'm glad I stuck it out.
Private Investigator Diana Belmaine is searching for a thief. A priceless piece of art has been stolen. The hunt leads her to Dr. Jack Austin, an archeology professor who is a pillar of the community...and also guilty as sin. Jack is used to living on the edge and is drawn to beautiful Diana who could expose his secret and ruin his reputation. He should keep his distance, but she is a risk he can't resist.
This story started off slow but I'm glad I stuck with it. I really liked Jack. This book had me wondering how the author was going to get him out of the mess he got himself into. Diana was an interesting heroine. She had been burned once before by a man who used her for illegal gains and she was going to make sure it didn't happen again. My rating: 4 Stars.
I enjoyed this one; it was witty and fun.
Romantic and wickedly dangerous! will keep you from the beginning to end....
Private Investigator Diane Belmaine always gets her man--and her hunt for a brazen, clever thief leads the cool blonde straight to Dr. Jack Austin.
