Anyone know how much sex is in this book?  I just got the CDs in the mail.  I don't remember their being much sex in Jayne Anne Krentz' books.  But I don't think I've read any of hers as Jayne Castle before.

I'm asking because DD and I are taking a road trip tomorrow. I've let her listen to some cozies with me.  But I don't want to put it on if there's a lot of sex or racy dialogue.  My dauther is almost 12.

It has been a little while since I read the book but it isn't very racy. The two characters have sex and some make out sessions (for lack of better description) but just like other Jayne Ann Krentz books nothing is to explicit. There is if I remember correctly not much if any swearing. I know that isn't much but I hope it helps.

There's more sex in her recent books that the earlier ones in this series, but it's not nearly as explicit as typical romances.   I  still think I'd recommend not,  but that's JMO.

I remember reading JAK for the sex back when..I haven't read much of her newer stuff after she got too psychic/paranormal though.

That whole series is pretty mild in my opinion.  I still love it--just like the whole amber thing, rezzing and dust bunnies:lol:  Really though, nothing explict.

I also don't remember it being that explicit.  I don't think more so than prime time TV as far as language, if I'm remembering correctly.  Unfortunately I traded it away, so I can't skim through it to check.

I'm probably not the best judge as by the time I was 12 I was reading my mom's historicals (the bodice rippers of the 80's), but I consider this particular series to be pretty mild as far as raciness.  The couple does "make out" and there is some sexual tension throughout, as well as some love scenes.  But in the realm of my other reading material this is pretty tame to me. I would say it depends on how mature your daughter is and what you feel comfortable listening to around her.

Well we did end up listening to it and DD loved it.  I just skipped ahead when they started getting romantic.  She knows what sex is but she's still grossed out by kissing.  So she was OK with that. But she loved the mystery aspect and of course Rose the dust bunny.
