This is the first book in a series of three including SHRIMP, and CUPCAKE. When I received Cupcake I did not realize it was initially the third book in the series, and a teen novel. I decided to read the series anyway, and started with this novel. I found it to be a page turner, and a light read. There is some content that does not make it suitable for a younger teen though.

Pretty good book. It really sucked me in, I stayed up till 1 a.m. just so I could finish it. The only thing that really bugged me is how the author treated sex, like there was nothing special about it and you could do it with whoever you wanted. To be honest, every now and then I felt the main character was a little slutty, and that definitely irritated me (I'm a Christian). Overall, though, a rather good book. Only give it to a younger teen if you're prepared to talk to them about it, not a book for young teens to read alone.

I happen to love adolescent and children's literature. this is definitely for the older teen, though due to content!
