This book is the only copy available at this time. It is posted and available on my bookshelf. It is also on my BIR list. I happened to be looking at my BIR, and I noticed that someone has it on auto-request. I went back and checked the isbn on both my BIR and bookshelf, and they are the same. In fact, this book only had one possible isbn and is only available in hardcover.

I removed, then re-listed it and got the same result. It's sitting on my bookshelf and is available to anyone, not on any kind of hold, and is still showing that someone has a WL auto-request on it.

I've had several different weird WL issues here of late.  I think something is out of sink with the WL.

I think this means:

- the first person on the wish list is on vacation hold, has the book on auto-request, and has no credits

- there is either nobody else on the wish list, or everyone else on the wish list is on vacation without auto-request, so the system doesn't currently have any wishers to whom it can offer this book

If the first wisher mailed out a book before going on vacation, she may earn a credit soon and your book should then be offered to her. Otherwise, it will be offered on a regular 48 hour hold when she comes off vacation.

Interesting.  I think it is probably a glitch.  It should have gone on Wish List hold as soon as you reposted it if it was a WL book.

Lisa,

The WL person must have declined.  Because I went to WL to see what came up and it doesn't come up as WL anymore.   I plug it in by title and by ISBN.   I put  it on my RL and it said 1copy in system.

Hey, good thought Cathy. But if you have an auto-request and no credits, doesn't the system remove the book from your WL and put it in reminders? The green W is still showing in my BIR list.

I'm not really obsessing over this, I'm just trying to figure out if I somehow did something weird when I posted it or something.

Lisa,

No, and especially not if you're on vacation hold it doesn't, because the vacation hold feature is designed so you don't need to deal with WL offers, lack of credits, book requests, or anything else. If you have a book on auto-request and no credits while on vacation hold, it just sits there on your wish list. When you come off vacation hold, you'll get a 48-hour offer for that book. If you aren't on vacation hold and have it on auto-request with no credits, it'd automatically convert to a 48-hour wish list offer immediately.

Interestingly enough, if you have no credits when an auto-requested book is posted (while you're on vacation hold) and you later get a credit from some source, the system doesn't detect that that book is now available for requesting, so it still sits on your wish list until you come off hold. That was an interesting discovery for me.

Thanks for the info Tiffany. I guess it's just a weird glitch then, since it's available on my shelf.
