hi all sorry if this has been asked before. i just went to my library book sale and found the first 2 books in the 'his dark materials' trilogy and found out that it's on a young adult level. has anyone read the trilogy? I saw the golden compass movie and really liked it even though it had a cliffhanger ending, does anyone know if the other 2 books were made into movies, maybe under a different name? thanks have a happy holiday

I've read them and saw the movie.  I liked the first book more than the movie.  The second one I liked a little less and the third I mostly skimmed.

The other two haven't been made into movies.  According to the Wikipedia page for The Subtle Knife, the procedurer said she will make it into a movie, but Pullman himself said that it won't be made.

hey brad, reading the reviews on goodreads people seem to agree with you, i just wanted to know what happens at the end. I'm up to page 200 and it doesn't seem too youngish for my tastes. the movie came out awhile ago, if they ever made a sequel which it looks like was already cancelled, it would have to be a brand new cast all the kids are too old.
