Any woman who has been a mother, a sister, a daughter, a wife... should read this book. Goldie Hawn reaches into her soul and reveals her struggle to be accepted by her peers in school, her deep love and affection for her parents and sister, and her luck (and her angel that helped her) in surviving a near fatal accident. She shows a depth of feeling and character I never saw in some of her film characters. She's wonderful to watch on screen, but so much more than that. She seems to have found just the right balance in her life. She adores her children, and reveals the love and respect she has for her life partner, Kurt Russell. A wonderful read. Don't miss this one! And pass it on when you're done!

I read this book because I enjoy Goldie's personality as perceived through the roles she plays. This book is not a tell all and does not serve as a biography of her life. What it is, is snapshots of moments that Goldie wants to share with us because she learned a life lesson and she hopes to impart that knowledge to us. It was as if she saw herself as each of our mothers and she wanted to tell us a parable to help guide us through our lives. We get insight into her spirituality and her warmth but not a lot of juicy stories from her movies and fellow actors. If you want this book because you want a behind the scenes tell-all, look elsewhere. If you just want to know more about what makes Goldie tick and why she makes some of the choices that she does, then you will like this book. I liked the book and read it to completion but found myself wanting more stories and less "preaching" to us. (I liked it enough to pass it on so I loaned it to my mother but she didn't finish it because she didn't care for the style.)

This is not a biography. Goldie Hawn explores the essential moments of her life. A very spiritual person, Ms. Hawn describes childhood events, friendships, travels and family life events that she treasures. She has an extremely positive outlook on life.
I enjoyed the book but must admit I was ready for the book to end. Very well written, easy to read.

I always knew there was something special about Goldie Hawn and this book confirmed it. She is one of those rare individuals that never looses their optimism and joy of life. I enjoyed reading about her various experiences and how they shaped her into the woman she is today. She had amazing parents who nutured her well and gave her that effervescent bubbliness that is her trademark. The lessons shared in the book are priceless and timeless. This is a good book to share between mothers and daughters especially.
