One of Lehane's darker novels, but good all the same. Deals with drugs, dirty cops and child abuse. Has some graphic chapters, but is realistic. Having worked in both the prison system and child welfare, this novel is not far from the truth and could have been much more graphic. He deals with mans inhumanity to man very well. Not a novel for the tender at heart. 3 stars

This is such a good book. It is very graphic about child abuse and abduction. I did have to put it down several times just to get the images from my head, so beware it can haunt you. It is so sad that that this is a reality we live in. This is a very good book, I highly recommend it, but again be prepared to go into a very dark and graphic world.
