This book is completely amazing, and you get so much more than recipes, you get a history lesson! There are biblical passages, timelines on the food and who would have eaten which recipe, and substitutes you can use when something might be hard for you to get hold of. I learned so much-- for example, Lotus Flower Roots were used as early potatoes! I never knew that; I only knew of the flower buds in Greek Mythology being used as a type of opiate... You will not be sorry you picked this up, whether you are a biblical scholar, or merely a seeker of historical knowledge.
