Wonderful story of healing and hope -- not schmaltzy. I happened to be reading it the week of the tornado devastation in a small Kansas town (May '07). Eerie to watch the TV coverage and think about both real and fictional characters here in the Midwest.

Definitely a 5 star read. I am in absolute awe at the quality of this book. I would even recommend it for high school students as required reading. It's really incredible, thought-provoking, and fantastic literature!

Excellent book. I read 'Tending Roses' many years ago so I really can't compare but I think I really enjoyed them both. Both moving stories about healing relationships. Great writing - I have all of her books and look forward to reading more. Carol

This was my first Wingate book; I'd stumbled across it because it looked interesting, and I was quite impressed by it. I've since read Tending Roses, and this was the stronger of the two books.

There were elements in here that reminded me of Carolyn Haines' non-mysteries, Touched and Summer of the Redeemer, both of which are books I loved.

All three are worth it, but personally, I'd skip Tending Roses.

I enjoyed this book. The flow of the story and the feelings invoked by the author makes it a book to read again. The whole series will be kept on my bookshelf to be reread or loaned to special reader friends.

In a time of Crisis, Two women came together and set off down a road of hope.
22 Yr old Jenilee Lane, whoes dreams are as narrow as the sky is wide, is the last person to expect anything good to come out of the tornado that rips across the Missouri farmland surrounding her home.

Good Hope Road was an excellent book. BUT read book #1 (Tending Roses) FIRST. Then read The Language of Sycamores (book #3) and finally, book #4 "A Thousand Voices". It follows the lives of two sisters who have deep issues between them as well as the life of Dell, a severely neglected little girl. She found in every book. Book 4 completes her story and theirs. *** Family, forgiveness, faith and hope are the main themes of this series.

In two words Life Changing. A reminder of how a small act of kindness can unite and change the direction of life for many people.
