Since I'm a fan of twilight and the sookie stackhouse books arent what I was looking for. I was wondering if anyone knew of other books like the twilight book that would be a good read?

Stand back and prepare to be swamped. :)  Also, do a search for this topic. It has come up before.

Some of my favorites are Jayne Castle's (who is also Jayne Anne Krentz and Amanda Quick) Ghost Hunter series and her Arcane series (which spans historical, contemporary, and futuristic now).

I also like Patricia Briggs, though hers are more urban fantasy than romance, but there is some romance in there and they are a lot of fun.

Jeannine Frost's books are fun, the Night Huntress series. Those have some romance with Cat and Bones.

Kelley Armstrong is good, too, with her Women of the Otherworld series. Those are romance.

Nalini Singh is excellent and probably right up your alley. Her Psy/Changeling romance series is fantastic.

There will be more, I'm sure.

You know, I just read your message again. I think most of mine would fit what you want, but now I'm not so sure...

Can you tell us what you liked about Twilight and what you did not like about Sookie? That would help determine what to recommend... I like both of them, a lot, but I can see how Sookie would not quite do it if you want romance.

I like twilight because it was for me romantic and sweet the things edward did for bella. The way he was with her.  And I'm alittle disappointed in the stookie stackhouse books so far because of it. But not entirely. I'm getting into the story but it wasnt what I was hoping it would be.

I jumped from Twilight to Karen Marie Moning. Time traveling, good romance hot sex, what's not to like? Then I read Sherrilyn Kenyon's series that started with Fantasy Lover, Night Pleasures, NIght Embrace. You will probably like those because they really love their women.

But, for me, the best was Outlander by Diana Gabaldon. Jamie is so stinkin' sweet to Claire that I dropped Edward for him right away. It's about a million pages long but I stayed up all night reading it and didn't want it to end.

I haven't read thes I'm about to suggest (I like funny romantic paranormal for the most part) but I have abunch of Amanda Ashley in my TBR adn I think they're more romance though not sure how violent or what-not..I know there's at least one person here who's read these 'cause that's where I heard about them! They just haven't climbed mt tbr yet.

another book I've seen mentioned many times is Sunshine by Robin somebody..can't remember the last name. I checked it out of the library twice I think but got no farther than realizing it's first person and no sequel. I have no idea what it's about ot her than he's a real vampire and all that.

Sunshine by Robin McKinley is decidedly not a romance, and very dark.  good stuff, but not if you're looking for light, funny, or romance.

Sunshine has its humorous moments, but yes it is pretty dark and a bit grim. I loved it. I wish for a sequel every day!

I agree with the Eileen Wilks suggestion! The guys are great in those.
