I just finished reading Graceling by Kristin Cashore and just loved it.  I haven't read much YA before this but now I am wanting to read more of it.  I rushed out to the library to check out the second book Fire, but they had to order it from a different library.  I ended up getting the Hunger Games and its sequel instead.  Are these books good?

Can anyone recommend any other YA books that I might like?

Thanks,

Laura

The Hunger Games is amazing. So is Catching Fire.

You should read the Poison Study series by Maria Snyder too. Those are good. I tried reading Graceling, but I couldn't get into it. It was really slow moving. I put it up and I will try again later. There is a sequel to Graceling. It's called Fire.

I've added Poison Study to my list.  It looks like a lot of people really like it.

I started the Hunger Games and it is quite different from anything I have read so far.  Very interesting premise.

Fire is not a sequel to Graceling.  It's a companion novel, and neither requires the other to be understood.  Pretty much the only connection between the two is a single character who appears in both books.

(And Fire takes place YEARS before Graceling, so if anything it's a prequel.)

(Oh, and Fire is the better novel of the two.  I'm just saying.)

I just went to Kristin Cashore's blog and she is working on the third book called Bitterblue.  It sounds like this one will be more of a sequel to Graceling as it set 6 years later and has the Graceling characters.  It doesn't say when it will be out though.
